"We watch your entire tape to
determine if we'd like to represent you, not just the first 20 seconds.
At Signature Media Group we pride ourselves on treating clients with
respect. It's a simple concept that makes a big difference.
Agent accountability: We believe strongly in
agent accountability. We will tell you specifically (station and
news director) where we've sent your tape and what the response
is. We'll tell you honestly if we're having difficulty in finding
you a job and why. We won't make up places we sent your tape, knowing
all along we've not sent it to those places.
No conflict of interest: We eliminate client versus
client conflict of interest from the agent equation. We do not represent
people with similar "looks," experience, and background.
If you look, sound, report or anchor too much like an existing client,
we will regrettably not be able to represent you because it would
not be fair to our client.
One Person-One DVD: We make customized resume
tapes for each client. You no longer have to sneak around your newsroom
on the weekend working on that "escape DVD." Just dub
off your best work, and we'll do the rest. Similarly, you will never
be placed on a reel with other clients. We abhor the practice of "bundling".
Your call is important: Phone calls or emails are
almost always returned or responded to the same day they are received.
You might have an issue in your newsroom that requires immediate
intervention in which a call tomorrow does no good!
Flexible and reasonable commission rates: We are
always fair to our clients regarding commissions. If you have an
existing relationship with a news director or found the job on your
own, we will take a smaller percentage. After all you've done a lot
of work on your own and our commission should and does reflect that.
We are here to listen and advise: Marc has lived
your dreams and your frustrations. Because he has the most on-air
and network experience of any agent in the country, he knows what
you're going through. Simply put, he has likely experienced it himself.
He knows what it's like to have a producer or assignment editor yelling
in your ear during breaking news. Marc knows what it's like to fight
for an assignment or barter for more on-air time. Whether you need
to vent or just want to chat, Marc is there to listen. We also pursue
freelance opportunities for you outside of TV news, such as corporate
videos and movie roles.
We'll work to get the most for you: We've developed
a nice reputation of negotiating optimum contracts for reporters
and anchors in medium and large markets.
We don't settle or cave in during negotiations:
Since we represent only a select number of people we can hold out
for higher dollars and larger contracts. Whether it's salary, vacation,
hair, makeup or clothing allowance, we will push to get you more
without any fear of backlash.
